Left Wrightsville Beach NC Friday morning early for a 1/2 day of offshore fishing. Larger Spanish are coming in and we were successful in catching just what the clients wanted. Lots of people in the area for the Holiday weekend.
The sailfish are biting! Now is the time of year to book that 3/4 – full day to try and catch YOUR sailfish!
No complaints on the last 2 days of fishing! Caught 30 plus Spanish Monday and 23 today. Clients enjoyed pulling them in! Kings are closer! Mahi are coming in a little stronger. We are having a blast.
Fish are moving in….mahi, wahoo, kings, grouper, spanish, and a couple of sailfish.
For safety purposes, we have had to miss a few trips out but trying to squeeze some in when we can. The holiday is coming up next week. Be safe and enjoy!
Had quite a bit of rain this week but didn’t keep us from fishing Friday. Water was a little green but we were still able to catch mackerel. Then it opened up Saturday. Bottom fished for Grouper, black sea bass, grunts…then changed to trolling for mahi. Had great clients and fish….can’t get any better. Then Sunday…more great clients!!! The Mahi and Kings were active and the lady of the boat caught the biggest!
So, after much persuasion by a lot of people, I am trying Facebook and Pinterest. You can follow us on Facebook by clicking here, and you can search “cape fear coastal charters” in Pinterest. Keep in mind I’m just trying it out right now but hopefully we can post pics and comments on those sites as well.
For those who suffer like my wife from motion sickness, the best thing she has found is the patch. It is prescribed by a doctor and they are a little pricey but definitely worth it. She had always taken dramamine or some other type of pill, which is fine, but took it at the wrong time. You should take one at supper the night before (make you drowsy) and then perhaps eat a light breakfast and take 1/2 of another one before getting on board. Two years ago she and my daughter went with us on a offshore trip, took their meds before going, and slept the entire time we were fishing. They did manage to get up once to catch a grouper but feel asleep again in 5 mins. They were able to drive home but slept through supper and through the night until the next morning. To say the least, it was quiet! PS We will never make you stay out in the ocean if you do get sick. We will come back in if necessary!
This week was a little windy. We did get out to catch some mahi and blackfin tuna. Had to batten down the hatches Thurs in prep for this Tropical Storm but looks like everything should be back on schedule by Sunday.
We are now on Facebook under Owen Sewell! Be sure to check us out!
